Purple Passion

I must confess, purple is my least favorite color. There is also no logical reason for why I dislike it. The only one I can come up with is that was my sister's favorite color. Let me explain. Growing up, we were extremely close in age and very competitive in many things as well as polar opposites in just about every possible way...which lead to us fighting A LOT!

God is so gracious, because when we became adults, moved out on our own, and had our own families, webecome very close. I can't imagine not having her now. If you'd have told me that when we were kids that would be the case... let's just say I'd have looked at you (and probably said it as well) that you were crazy with a capital "C"! That is the ONLY reason I can come up with for why I've always turned my back on such a regal color.

I once read that the overuse of purple can cause anxious and depressed thoughts because some shades with more blue than red read as cold color. Maybe that is another reason I've always avoided it. I love warm, cheerful, light and happy.

Life is full of surprises and lately I've found the color is suddenly appealing to me! Shocker! The warm plums that seem so hot for fall are really catching my attention. In one of my earlier posts, I showed some fabric I actually bought with purple in it! Then, I found a vintage lilac print I loved, and now I'm finally opening up to the possibilities. Purple has such a wonderful history. Everywhere you look, especially in the Old Testament of the Bible, it's used over and over to represent holiness and royalty.

So, since it's such a special and very current color, I went on a hunt to find some rooms I liked with Purple as the main color choice. Enjoy!
